What the...Keithley !
« on: October 03, 2018, 01:57:19 am »
When i saw it on a local for sale list my first thought was "what on Earth is this...? "

Fortunately it did not take too long to find the instruction manual, thanks Tektronix !  I recommend taking a look at it as it has full device specification and interesting information about type of measurements you do not do every day.

Nice find, I have personally never come across such unit. Looking at the  heavily corroded PL-259/bnc connectors and associated coax cable, it seems like some fellow amateur radio operator found a practical application for this device  :-+

Nice!  I think that's the second or third resistivity fixture Keithley made.  I have the 8008 version on my desk that added a switch for volume measurements instead of requiring separate connectors.

The most recent version is the 8009 that made the connector plates spring loaded instead of screw-on.

Here's the wiring schematic for the 8008, I think it's especially interesting how the electrode connections change from surface to volume measurements.  Like the ring electrode being guarded for volume measurements to prevent leakage to ground.

Cool, buy it!  I'd let the seller keep the skanky cable though - it looks like something they fished out of a sewer!
