Tektronix TDS 500,600,700 Disc Drive
« on: September 29, 2022, 04:25:45 pm »
I have a TDS784D with a damaged floppy drive, so had to scavenge one from another scope.  Now I am looking to replace the floppy with a USB floppy emulator that supposedly is a one-for-one fit with the original.  My intent is to upgrade the scope I'm using and put the scavenged drive back in the donor unit and get it ready for sale.  So my question: do any of you have experience with the drive emulator shown below.

There's no point getting old if you don't have stories.

Since its written on the sticker  tektronix compatibility,  i think it should be fine ??

Ask the seller  just in case to be sure, and or some warranty it will work in the given models ???

Yes. Total crap. Don't even bother.

A while ago I bought a Prologix GPIB ethernet interface for 200 euro (new). This plugs into every piece of digital test equipment out there and with a simple Python script you can read data and images from the devices. Way better compared to messing with floppy disks or emulators.

There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.
