I recently became aware of the
Fluke 771. It seems pretty cool - you can clip it on to a wire and then get a current measurement with pretty high accuracy and resolution. It only has two ranges - a 20ma and a 100ma range - so that's a bit limiting. But overall this seems like a really cool tool.
I also saw an
HP 428B recently. Similar idea, but wider current measurement range. It is a pretty massive tool though and vacuum tube based, so less attractive, but still cool.
Anybody here have a clip on ammeter that can do low current measurements? Before seeing these two I thought that only worked for high current stuff, but clearly I was mistaken! Do you find them to be useful tools?
Thanks!
