TM-50A 50 GHz cables on ebay
« on: August 02, 2023, 08:16:20 pm »
The ebay seller mil-c-17 has quite a few high-frequency cables with good specs and much more reasonable prices than typical brand-name cables with these specs. For example, https://www.ebay.com/itm/155225121475. Has anyone tested these? Any thoughts? They're made to look a lot like the Gore phaseflex cables. The one thing I'm not seeing in the specs is any data on phase stability over flexure.

Yes, I purchased one of these (the 1.85mm version) and found that the phase stability was extremely disappointing compared to what I was used to from Gore / HP / Anritsu VNA cables. I don't remember the exact numbers but I immediately demoted the mil-c-17 cable to the non-phase-stable rack, never put it on VNA duty, and eventually filled the role with an Anritsu armored cable.
