Despite Dave's video, I recently got a Hantek DSO5102P. I first did a system backup, and then used it a few weeks.
My DSO fw is 3.40.0(140925.0), hw version : 1000xffff8108 ; I think that "140925" means 2014-09-25
Today, I decided to update the firmware.
I searched for files and found two versions :
Hantek Onedrive : 3.40.0(140208.0)
Hantek website : 3.40.0(140806.0)
Firmware updates are not up to date ! Why the hell do they release obsolete firmwares ?
To see how fw updates work, I had a try with 3.40.0(140806.0) fw (older)... It seems to work (displays version correctly), but shows an error screen at power on. 3 options : F1-reboot, F2-recover system, and F3-update the recover partition.
F1-reboot : reboots without any error message, and seems to work ; but the error reappears when cycling power.
F2-recover system : replaced the "update" (older 3.40.0(140806.0) ) with the original one (most recent 3.40.0(140925.0), installed when I received the DSO ), and problem was fixed.
I did'nt try F3-update the recover partition.
Did Hantek release a true fw update ? What fw versions do you have with your DSO5000P ?
