So I picked up this power supply yesterday, not really sure why, but for $20, why not! Was still in the original box, hardly ever been used.
After buying it, I realised its 13amp rating is only at maximum voltage, (15volts) because the transformer only has a single secondary winding, so the heatsink can't dissipate the heat generated at lower voltages.
So, I'm considering adding a switchmode pre-regulator, Unless someone has a better idea?
The other thing is, this power supply appears to have overload protection... it won't even power up with a 50 watt car headlight globe connected to it...
I don't suppose anyone has a schematic for this PSU so I can have some idea of what I'm doing? It doesn't have adjustable current limiting either, but the higher voltage/lower amperage versions of the same PSU do...

Looks like quite a bodge of a power supply, but the case is very solid!
