Hi everyone, long time lurker finally registered and posting!
I've had a DE-5000 for probably 4-5 years now and recently it has stopped recognizing capacitors of higher values. I know these are quite sensitive to a charge on the cap and I've been careful but I woulnd't rule out a slip-up. Is it possible I could have taken out a specific "range" in the meter ? It will still measure caps in the low uF range (I tried some 10s) but I have a 470 and 4700 that are reading open at all but the 100 and 120hz settings, and they're definitely not reading correctly at those settings either. I've replaced the battery (it was pretty low) but done no other troubleshooting as there's not much else I would know how to do. I know the caps are good as a I have a small little eBay component tester and a Fluke 117 on my bench that basically agree.
