I am using the 31-202 connector from amphenol
https://datasheet.octopart.com/031-315-RFX-Amphenol-RF-datasheet-5670.pdf

I have been soldering them, but I am wondering if you can do a 4 indent crimp on this connector. I have the tool, and it has a setting scale, but usually they tell you what to set it to for the crimp you buy and they also sell go-no go gauges to make sure you have the correct setting for crimps.. anyway this information is not available, is it possible to figure out.. or even compatible?

I can do a few experiments but they are wasteful since if I wreck the pin I need to throw everything out, I would like to get it right close to the first time if its possible

I was just gonna set it to the wire gauge and see if it works but I am not sure if maybe the barrel is too thick for a solder compatible contact.. its for 20 awg stranded rg400

and they also want dies for the crimp connectors, I looked em up, it does not appear to be a indent crimper. Why is that? I would assume a barrel is compatible with both types of crimps but does it depend some how on thickness?

I bought some 4 indent crimp connectors and they look pretty similar
