I have an older JBC station (DI3000) with a 245 series handle and a 2245 006 tip (0.6mm chisel tip). The setup works great for through hole soldering but I was thinking about a smaller setup for SMD parts and possibly a small variety of 245 tips.
For SMD work should I look at getting a 210 series handle? Or a 0.3mm conical tip for the 245?
How do the JBC clone tips hold up? The price is substantially cheaper for the clone tips (ordering to Canada), but the has me a bit suspicious as well. Is it better to "buy once cry once" for the genuine tips or are they good enough for occasional use (while primarily using the genuine JBC tip I have now). What about the clone handles?
I also have a set of the micro tweezers (Pa1200 tweezers with 1200 008 tips) but if someone has a better suggestion I'm all ears.
Thanks 😎.
