Looking for some Tektronix TDS3000 parts
« on: August 16, 2018, 01:02:44 pm »
Hi,

Can anybody help? Does anybody have any spare Tektronix TDS3000 series case parts?

I am looking for the cover for the communication module slot:

And the two parts that retain the handle, I need two sets, one for each side:

These are parts 2, 5 and 6 in this view:

Thanks!!

Regards,

Re: Some Tektronix TDS3000 parts - 3D Printing solution

Hi,

Reviving an old topic.

I solved this problem at the time by buying parts from Tektronix:

Item 6

Item 5

And this fixed that scope.

3D Printing solution

I have another scope that requires the same parts. I recently bought a 3D printer and I have been learning how to use Fusion 360. I thought it would be a nice project to build replacement parts.

Original Components

The hub is the most complicated part:

Here are the printed parts:

I will also have to make this metal part:

Installed on the scope

It took a couple of goes at each part to dial in the dimensions.

I am quite impressed with the results from the 3D printer.

Would you be willing to share the files for the 3D printing of those parts?

Hi,
I presume that you want the .STL files?

The cover was printed outside down

The indent part was printed with the indents up.

The hub part was printed with the small end down. I used FlashPrint and let it add supports (tree) automatically.

I used PLA.

These are close tolerance parts. I had to open some of the holes with a twist drill afterwards.

I did get them to work nicely.

There is a topic on the forum for posting 3D printed test equipment parts.  That would be the best place to post the files.

Hi,

Here you are:

I have about three days experience with Fusion 360 so please bear this in mind.

Please share any improvements.
