LCD Panel Failure
« on: December 14, 2017, 11:59:26 am »
Just out or interest what would have caused this fault?

Looks like a fault with the LCD itself?? Not the electronics

It maybe looks like heat damage?

It could still be a crack, but on the inner layers. If you put a lot of blunt pressure on a monitor it could happen.

Could be humidity or some sort of oil ingress into the diffuser layers? K.

That's unlike any failure I've ever seen before. It looks like maybe the layers are delaminating somehow. Certainly does *look* like the panel itself although that's no absolute guarantee. You could unplug the panel from the driver board and see if it goes entirely white.
