Hi there, so I'm really gutted, but basically I purchased a bypass cable from ebay to allow you to bypass the control pod and use the system with a 3.5mm jack, however when trying it out it worked for a couple of minutes then suddenly stopped. I tried plugging back in the control pod and it works for a about 10 seconds then freezes displaying squares on the screen...

I'm not sure if this was the cable that caused this issue, or just a really timely coincidence, but somewhere in the subwoofer (which houses the amp) something is now broken...
So I have two questions, firstly is can anyone reassure me that this cable didn't cause the fault, because if it did I'm going to go

crazy to the ebay seller, what's the likelyhood here?
and secondly, where on earth would I begin trying to diagnose where the issue lies in the sub? I have taken the back off and inspected all the parts with no obvious signs of any issues
I love these speakers, so any help would be much appreciated
