Looking for a manufacturer of flexible silicone wire (like on multimeter leads)

Hello,

If you know the test leads on Fluke multimeters or in fact on the 121-GW that Dave sells then you know what kind of cable I mean. Preferably I want the cable to be black and red and be attached to eachother (like speaker wire), but finding the wire seems tricky enough.

For reference, currently I'm using speaker cable 2x1,5mm^2 from Donne (a Dutch company), but this breaks too often internally, as the application is on a hand-held tool.

About half an amp  will pass through it at 14V.

Also can I cross post this to the buy/sell/wanted board?

Electro PJP makes nice silicone test leads, CAT rated, double insulated and everything. Distributors can be found.

I know that's not what you are looking for but it is similar to what you have seen on DMMs

It seems more like what you are looking for. Probably any distirbutor will have similar cables.

Digikey in the USA sells internationally for many manufacturers. Do a parametric filter in their wire section. Select Silicon or Silicon Rubber.

That's called zip cord.

As alternative, perhaps cable spiral wrap or high flexible PU cable?

Wire with a high number of fine gauge strands and silicone insulation is common in the radio control hobby. That may open up sources for you, although I don't recall seeing it available in zipcord style.

Look up "2 conductor silicone wire" on sites like Amazon.

What you need is a quality silicon cable for R/C models of e.g. airplanes. Fist, go to the local hobby store and ask there. It comes in different thicknesses (cross sections). Our local store sources it here: https://m-el.eu

microflexwire.com also has similar super flex high strand count wire, known for high quality also.  You can get a variety of jacket material, silicone, FEP and others.
