What automotive bulkhead connector for a harness rewire
« on: July 04, 2024, 06:15:22 pm »
Hi,
Has anyone here experienced rebuilding an automotive harness of an older car and adding a bulkhead connector in firewall?
I have a 1991 Citroen BX that has 37 wires crossing the firewall, a mix of analog signal wires, couple Ampere wires and a few with 40-50 A. Turn signal is the highest frequency signal in this harness.
I would like to make it expandable, so that I could get to the either side of the connection and replace/add/remove individual wires.

I am looking at TE range of industrial/automotive connectors and they have a few, but could anyone share any practical experience?
I am leaning towards HDP20 series or LEAVYSEAL. DRB looks very nice, but it seems that I would need to remove cable boot to access the jackscrew which is not something I'd like.
