Embedded Computer Design

Maybe this is too much to ask for in one question, but I only need advice on how to start building my own embedded computer system. I want to use uP and RAM to run Linux. the system has to produce fast graphics so I need a graphics processor. Is there any guide I can refer to on creating an embedded computer? Thanks.

Get a reference design for a Freescale or TI Omap device and go from there.
