Special arrangement of Kelvin connections

Hello, I'm Jakob,
I found a layout recommendation on Kelvin connections in this datasheet from Isabellenhütte.
https://www.isabellenhuette.de/fileadmin/user_upload/VMS.PDF
It can be found on the third page and I am referring to the "Layout 2".
In this layout, they propose traces with different lengths attached to the pads at precise positions.
Can anyone tell me what is going on, please?
Thank you very much in advance.

I assume they are trying to reduce the stress caused during the reflow soldering.
