So I want to use a DAC as a Multiplying DAC.

Essentially I want to figure out what is the maximum frequency the Vref can be before the DAC output becomes distorted (using it as a multiplier or attenuator).

I understand that MDACs are designed for this, but is there a trick to finding out what the maximum frequency is for any dac so that you are not confined to what is advertized as a MDAC? (multiplying DAC).

Should be specified in the datasheet.

Usually, they drop off around 200kHz, but beware the error and the cutoff frequency usually vary with code...
