For a project, i am looking for a buck converter that i can use in a kind of constant-current/constant-voltage mode. I need a 15V supply that limits the output voltage so that it never draws more than 1A from it's power source. It will be used for a heater that only wants more than 1A while heating up. Once it has achieved it's target temperature, the steady state current will be lower than 1A. I want to use the input-current limited buck converter to be able to use a smaller power supply(trading for heatup time). Can anybody recommend a chip? Integrated switch would be preferred. But it should be a switching regulator, not just a LT3080 or similar in constant current mode.
