CY3689 EZ-USB FX2LP problems
« on: July 24, 2023, 10:45:32 am »
Hey, having problems installing drivers for this board. Tried https://www.instructables.com/FX2LP-CY7C68013A-USB-Dev-Board-Logic-Analyzer/ then moved on to the official installation instructions from https://community.infineon.com/t5/Knowledge-Base-Articles/Cypress-EZ-USB-FX2LP-based-Logic-Analyzer-using-Open-Source-sigrok-PulseView/ta-p/252866 and am not getting anywhere!

Primary issue appears to be that I cannot install unsigned drivers on my works machine.. WHen I try the offical route I can see the board in the device manager but it will not appear in the Cypress control center (which I find odd!).

I can install the official Sigrok drivers and have got my 8 channel chinese device working ok with Pulseview, but I would like to get the 16 channel device up and running if possible!

Is there any way round the system policy? I cannot see the IT guy changing the policy :-(

You will have to have permission to install the correct driver, without that you are stuck. Perhaps you could ask the IT guy to install the driver you need without having to have a permanent group policy change especially as it is work based. I think Windows only checks the certificate on installation not each time it runs, I might be wrong on that though.

You must modify the vid/pid to let sigrok know it's the 16ch analyzer.

Then simply install the WinUSB driver using Zadig.

Keep in mind that doubling the channels halves the sampling frequency to 12MHz.
