IP rating of panel-mount switch

Hi everyone,

just bought this switch from Farnell:  #2546940

Their website states it's ingress protection is IP67, IP69K. However, on inspecting the switch, there is no IP marking. Same goes for the plastic bag it came in. Is this normal?

Yeah, the specs match the Farnell listing. And the part number matches the plastic bag it came in.
Loads of room to stamp the IP rating on the switch, so not sure why they didn't just do it (considering the IP rating made the switch so much more expensive.)

I don't know too much about IP ratings. Why does this switch have two? (IP69K and IP67).

I could be completely wrong about this but the rating only applies to the device if it properly mounted in a similarly rated panel. 

If you look at a NEMA rated switch, the user facing side is pretty rugged and sealed up. but the electrical side is not sealed at all.   The contact blocks really have little ability to withstand water ingress.   I would imagine that the IP ratings are similar for industrial pushbuttons.   The user side and the electrical side literally live in two different worlds.
