Looking for wireless camera and monitor options. Thoughts?
« on: February 22, 2022, 08:51:43 pm »
So, we have several pieces of equipment that need an extra set of eyes.  Excavator, forklifts, etc. I am getting pretty frustrated that I just can't find what I need, or at a decent price.

I don't even need extreme resolution, I just need a weather resistant camera mounted out on the machine somewhere, and a sleek monitor near the operator station.  Security cams are outdoor cams with all the frills, for very cheap.  But getting all this together is getting frustrating.

Thoughts on where?  Or possible I am not using the right key words to search this stuff.

I bet you could build a cam using a raspberry Pi, camera module and wifi that would beat the commercial options out there by a wide margin. You could even use a RPI zero which costs less.

Ive found the cameras to be pretty decent, especially for the price.

Go to Amazon and do a search on "wireless backup camera".

I think you should search for 4G Solar Cameras to monitor the equipmetns.

That is basically what we sell on our website in Australia , but you can find a similar goods in your location.  8)
