lifefuels - uber expensive waterbottle
« on: April 19, 2020, 11:43:16 pm »
lifefuels - slick consumer design, lousy pricing.

This is a $180 bottle that can flavour your water via your smartphone. But the expensive bits are the flavour pods!

Julie Strietelmeier's awesome review and brutal conclusion is worth the read. LifeFuels won't be sending her any product in the future!

USB-chargable water bottles are a true first-world-problem.
What a nonsense.

Actually I think it *has* BT, as the "servings" and usage are tracked via Smartphone (App).
Which makes the whole thing - still as stupid as it could be.

It's got electrolytes. It's what the plants crave!

Hehe.

It's fun to see that the more sophisticated some objects become, the more they target idiots.

Check out the toy puppets things on the right side of the desk.

I see they have vitamins in the bottles so it looks like some kind of portable dispenser.

Seems to me a lot of effort to operate it from a phone when you could just push few buttons in front or better yet pour it yourself.

USB-chargable water bottles are a true first-world-problem.
What a nonsense.

Maybe they could put a twirling arm around it like that one from the Lightsaber Kickstarter project EEVblog #1251 - LifeSaber Kickstarter - A Master of None FAIL video.

One thing good about that article:

Quote
What I like
Nothing

What I’d change
Drastically improve battery life
Bottle is too expensive
FuelPods are too expensive
A pain to clean

Final thoughts
Here’s some advice for you if you’re thinking about buying the LifeFuels smart water bottle. Although it’s a nice bottle with some high tech features, it’s way too expensive. Save yourself a ton of money and use your existing water bottle or buy an insulated one online. Then drink regular plain water or dress it up with some flavor drops like the ones you can find on Amazon. Those drops might not have vitamins, but you can buy a bottle of multi-vitamins at your local grocery store or pharmacy and you’ll probably have spent less than $25 for everything. Much less if you already have a bottle.

I love gadgets as much as all of you do, but this is a gadget that solves no real problem or need. Sorry LifeFuels.

More like a pain to use.

Save yourself a ton of sense.

Very reminiscent of the Juicero  :bullshit:  https://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/silicon-valley-invests-$120-mill-in-$400-juicer-that-works-as-well-as-hands/
Only this water bottle with extra planned obsolescence doesn't appear to need the 'cloud' to function

Since I thought the three bottles pictured above were a DIY Jet Printer Color Refill Kit   :-[

perhaps this gadget can be modded for multitasking with the appropriate remote control app?  :D

Speaking of LifeSaber... this one didn't even come with aliens video ad, so it's a complete and total fail. Not even remotely funny... it's just :palm:
