I still like the realistic'ness of the Google Earth. We can see our Mr Mtron is dwelling under the tree. :D just kidding MTron.

My hometown, though not my house.

And yes, that location is between a science museum and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  :D

Shafri, I'm glad to see you falling in love with google earth just as I have! It's great fun.  :D

I wanted to mention Celestia. If you've ever been curious about astronomy it's like google universe! You can add map data for the local planets (they start out fairly simple for the sake of speed) and zoom around between stars.

Google earth does something similar, but it's more simple, it just flips you over and points you outward. I think they might have a lunar explorer too, but it's nothing like Celestia.

Hope you like it. :)

the drawback of the software is that the map is like 1-2 years outdated. My currently completed new home is still a flat land when watched from this software. If i point exactly to my new home location, everybody will think i'm a homeless :D

Don't worry. A bulldozer will arrive shortly to make your house conform to Google's reality again.

Apparently, someone did 3D models of some of the buildings of the city I live in. It's pretty cool :)

Finland is often called as "country of thousands of lakes", you can see from satellite images what it means. There isn't a natural pathway to open sea, like to Gulf of Finland, but I believe there is a man-made channel available.
