About 3 months ago I had to replace my old Sanyo plasma flat panel with a new Samsung LCD/LED flat panel. It's connected to my Yamaha AV receiver via HDMI of course. I got the Yamaha in 2012. It's controlled with a Logitech Harmony 650. Never had any sync problems at all.
It's not a huge deal, but about every so often when I turn on the system since the new TV, the TV does not receive a signal and displays "no signal present". To get the video I have to turn off the Yamaha off then turn it right back on, then all is well. That is the only problem I have with the system now and it's only when the system is being turned on.
The harmony turn on sequence is
Cable box
TV
AV Receiver
I guess I could try and change the sequence, although it wouldn't be obvious that it fixed the issue until I tried it for several days. But what I want to know from you guys is, should the turn on sequence matter at all? I wouldn't have thought so, since I would assume that there is a syncing protocol that the designers of HDMI built into it, but I am not an expert on HDMI.
Oh and I did obtain a new HDMI cable but that made no difference ...
