I am stuck for an easily acquired connector pair for attaching one PCB to another at right angles. My particular requirements are that the horizontal PCB may have PTH connector, and will meet the vertical PCB edge-on (forming the base part of a T junction). The vertical PCB must have a SMD connector - no pins poking out the other side of the PCB.
I would like two sets of 4 pins, preferably in two rows, but single rows or a single connector of 2x4 would be acceptable as second best.
So far I can find a Samtec jobby for the horizontal part:
https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/pcb-headers/7656423/but that bit is ten a penny if I go PTH. It's the other bit that has me stumped: straight 2x4 SMD socket should be easy to find, but I'm blowed if I can.
Any suggestions? The project is a front panel attached to a gizmo PCB, hence the requirement for SMD on the back side. Needs to be cheap, not take up much room, and the vertical PCB must be adjustable for position (at the design stage, to account for the main PCB mounting height in the box).
