An all time favourite for me is that one.
It's so bad that I can only think about the artist intentionally wanting to piss people off.

It's perhaps 10 years old and literally could be found everywhere.
I mean... it ended up being printed big, like 2 meters across, on a wall at work  :palm:
No one cares noticed despite being in an electronics company.

Hi,

Today we have:

Well at least it is an oscilloscope.

Shame that it is a GW Instek GDS1102.

Oh, the once mighty have fallen.

That could be a (badly photoshopped) picture of a test adapter meant to break out some signals (e.g. the core voltage supply) for testing purposes.
Cryptocurrency has taught me to love math and at the same time be baffled by it.

I just Googled "child electronic repair" and got even more ridiculous stock photos.  :palm:  What next, "animal electronic repair"???  :-DD

In an episode of the 1963-65 US sci-fi TV series "The Outer Limits", a scientist "discovered" that the future form of a species is already encoded in its DNA, and built a machine that could advance a living creature to its "evolved" state by any number of years.  In demonstrating his success to a prospective human subject, he pointed to a workbench in the corner of his lab, where a chimpanzee was quite convincingly using a multimeter to troubleshoot some piece of electronic equipment.

Is this the scene you're talking about?

Yup, that's it!  Looks like he even has a schematic to work from - and a phone to call tech support!

 :-DD

I found the whole episode on Dailymotion:

It's called "The Sixth Finger" (season 1, ep. 5). It is about a miner who accepts to be a Guinea pig in an experiment proposed by a mad scientist to accelerate the evolution of human beings.

The scene in question starts at 12:34 and it is used as a comic relief. The chimp seems to be very knowledgeable with the meter indeed. He tests the probes before measuring resistance.

The meter the chimp is using is a Kyoritsu TK-30A.

By the way, the chimp is called Darwin and the probes are correctly connected to the right receptacles.

Submitted for your disapproval...

I found this one on AliEx a couple years ago; I've posted it a time or two in the TEA thread as comic relief.

Although I don't have any examples at hand, I recall that photos/artwork of overhead high-voltage power lines were occasionally used in print advertisements related to telecommunications.

And even worse: years ago a public-relations flyer sent with my electric bill included a photo showing power company linemen hard at work restoring service after a storm.  They were standing in front of a downed large-diameter aerial telephone cable, attached to a pole that had two big loading-coil "pots"!

Nah, there are holes to hold the heatsink with push pins or screws.

They may be "cushions" to prevent the sink from tilting and crushing the edge of the die during assembly, like in old Athlons.

Just plastic bumpers to prevent the heatsink from teetering on the die.

I have a friend who got them on Amazon, but I've no idea how good they were, he's been too busy to meet up since they arrived last year. :)

Quite possibly.

I couldn't find out what piece of gear he's exactly servicing. Looks like an RF signal generator, but I'm not sure. On a side note, it seems that the influence of this episode goes beyond TV. Look at the back cover art of this record by the Brazilian 60's psychedelic rock band called Os Mutantes (The Mutants).

The girl (Rita Lee) on the right has a sixth prosthetic finger. The guy at the back is illuminated with a light from below just like the "evolved" character in the episode when he's about to use his telekinetic powers. And all of them have enlarged brains.

Must be some new sticker technology.

https://www.amazon.ca/KingSpec-2280mm-Internal-Desktop-Capacity/dp/B08G1TDX5D

This isn't really an image fail. Several companies use aluminium backed stickers claiming that they are part of the cooling solution. Their effectiveness is possibly questionable, but the person doing the image isn't the one who should be questioned.
