Messages do not show in Sent folder?

I sent Dave (user eevblog) a PM but it doesn't show up in my Sent list

Is it normal?  I am sure I got that green confirmation message.

Did you tick the checkbox marked "Save a copy in my outbox"?

This is normal but annoying. Always forget to tick that checkbox.

Click on profile in the top menu bar, then account settings, then in the sidebar on the left select personal messaging. There's an option in there.

Click the button: "Change profile"
