making my own micro scalextric track
« on: July 04, 2011, 06:28:28 pm »
I intend to build a very custom layout micro scalextric track. As I want a lot of very custom and odd bits I'd have to make at least some of my own track and so might as well make the whole circuit.

Has anyone ever worked on micro scalextrix, I'm talking micro, not the standard size, there is lots of stuff on standard stuff but little on micro. my main concern is the power rails, what to make them with and how to hold them down

I played with something similar when I was a kid.

The power rails in the original version were made from nickel-plated copper or brass. It's not easy to manufacture this.
They original tracks were plastic, and the power rails were fixed with dedicated slots underside the plastic track.

Hope this helps.
