Sony Video Walkman GV-9E Pal version LCD problem
« on: August 18, 2019, 02:24:11 am »
I have a  Sony video walkman GV-9 pal version which I have restored and all works except the LCD works but the picture colours are inverted like darks shows as light and for eg whites show as black. Video out is perfect. any ideas. I have replaced all the caps but it was the same before  started.  I have tried another lcd display but only part I have not tried is the rear backlight board as this one is a PAL version with the delay line on it. thanks

If the polarizer is not glued to the LCD, you put it in backwards.

The sharp lcd is a sealed unit with a ribbon cable coming out the bottom to connect to the back board

Ok so the polarizer is the white square plastic sheet that go between the lcd and the backlight.
It was already installed and I dont think it is removable but will check thanks
