full bridge rectifier, of course. The EPROM sat in a turned pin socket too
Just for a laugh I desoldered a 3V lithium backup battery and was astonished to see it still bang on three volts

Lately I've stopped desoldering the parts in advance. I let them stay on their original PCB, and only desolder when needed. That way is easier to browse the inventory, and the components remain "self-documented" by the vicinity with the nearby components and by the provenience of the PCB.

I do keep boards with any significant amount of SMD parts, but THT I like to desolder and put in my assorters. The sense of order gives me a warm fuzzy feeling - very therapeutic
