I'm not quite sure how youtube ratings and payments work - isn't it necessary to actually watch a video before being able to rate it? And doesn't the per-views fee paid to channel owners depend only on views, not like/dislikes?
If so, then by running a mass 'dislike' program someone was actually handing Dave more money. Not to mention the extra views from the notoriety. Pretty funny.
Ha ha. Unless Dave was running the Vietnamese hate-scam himself. That might work too. (Just kidding. If it was, he'd have been silly to analyze and talk about the trends.)
So, channel view fee arbitrage - are the costs of hiring Vietnamese click-hoards less than the fees from youtube for video views?
I think that's a profit opportunity that wouldn't last very long.
