The manufacturers of these devices look like a bunch of unscrupulous scumbags, and their users are succumbing to what Richard Feynman memorably described as "Cargo Cult Science".

However, recent research seems to suggest that although there is no chance that these quack devices will ever work and Royal Rife's ideas were undoubtedly flawed, he might have had a glimpse of something real.

Plus, the item being sold seems like it could be a vaguely useful sweep signal generator. Got to be worth five bucks or so

Please don't associate these types of devices with anything Rife said or did.  The internet is saturated with misinformation of Rife's work, and the criticisms are based on this misinformation.  You can read a brief introduction to the subject here:

Just... wait a second... let's say that we have a real sweaty body and our skin resistance i 1k (i'm guessing really sweaty, outside layer of the skin, frequency about 10khz because, you know more frequency less resistance), for Ohm's law I=V/R == 16.5/1000=0.016A = 16mA ... why in the name of (insert name here) would you need 4,5 A? Do you need to drive a motor? I know, electrostatic can reach peaks of 8 A of current for short amount of time... but we are talking 16.5 V not 10kV... am I missing something? Because we are talking about 16.5 volts @ 4.5A in output, I read about strap, so I think this thing might output current into you body or something like that... and I just read their website an i am like...
