When I was interested in such, I went to Weirdstuff in Sunnyvale.  Unfortunately they closed shop last year.  Their web site states that they sold all their inventory to outback (outbackequipment.com).  Their web site however claims that they don't have any products in the 'computer parts & accessory' section.  :-//

On eBay I cannot find a dual unit box, just big towers for 8 units.

In theory even boxes for tape-drivers (LTO, DLT) should be ok, in the practice: no, they are not, due to stupid design like custom metal stoppers which prevents me from installing a common SCSI unit like a DVDRAM.

One week ago a friend bought a DLT unit and it comes with a BOX that is physically made for a 2U SCSI 5.25" unit, but it has custom metal stoppers, and this is not good.

I am located in Europe, importing from the USA is very expensive. I'd prefer something within Europe.

5.25“ is for CDROM, as usual, CDROM use the 50pin, not 68pin.

5.25" could easily be for a tape or MO drive as well.

It was not a mistake. I confirm that I need an ultra wide connector (68pin) on the back of the box, and an ultra wide cable inside the box.

p.s.
my MO is UWIDE.

Isn't there a forum or a market place dedicated to vintage computers? Or a place with better chance to find old equipment like a SCSI box?

EEVBlog looks more dedicated to electronic equipment and measurement tools (DSOs, LAs, voltmeters, ...)

Anyway, thanks in advance for hints  :D

Something like this ?

yup, exactly  :D

hope to find something within Europe in order to save money.
Those guys seem to use only FeDex, and it adds 90usd for the S/H, plus importing fees.
Anyway, it's exactly what I am looking for.

Does it have top be new?

If not, look for an old external DLT drive?

Already considered, and as I wrote above, DLT boxes tend to be specifically made for DLT-units.

You won't believe it until you note that it misses 2mm in the measurement of wide from side to side so your SCSI box doesn't fit it without modding it. And even if it fits the upper part of the frame is empty because a 2U DLD has its screws only on the bottom!

Modding a frame is a lot of work, which might end in the wrong way. Another problem is holes, and metal stoppers, again ... I found they are usually customized, so they are all in the wrong position.

Drilling a couple of holes is not a problem, but removing metal, or even worse, have to solder some sheets of metal, is something that I'd really like to avoid.
