Hi all,

I'm wanting to go back to learning FPGA (was into that like 10 years ago), but since then I didn't have any use for programmable logic, so well... forgot how to do things.

Now I'm searching for a development board, to get back on track. Anyone wanting to sell a board? Price is quite important for me right now, especially that I know, that FPGA dev-boards tend to be a bit pricey...

I have no real requirements. It would be nice, if the IC on board would allow me to work later with LVDS serial interfaces with clocks of up to 200 MHz, maybe a USB HS PHY or 100M LAN? Nothing fancy in terms of speed.

It's not in the EU, but QMTECH sells cheap Spartan 6 and 7 boards on AliExpress. Not much included in terms of peripherals, just a few LEDs, some buttons and two 2x64 or 2x50 pin headers.

XC7S15: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32959887279.html
XC6SLX16 + 32MB DDR3: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32867486807.html
XC6SLX25 + 32MB DDR3: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1000006703110.html

(Not affiliated with any of the stores, these are just the ones I ordered from. At least for the Spartan 6 version, there are quite a few sellers and also some other boards available on AliExpress.)

I have a few of the Spartan 6 boards and they work well so far. Schematics are available on their website.

I have more of the XC6SLX16 boards than I need, so if you want to avoid ordering directly from China, I could send you one or two. Now Spartan 6 isn't all that recent (won't even work with Vivado, you have to use ISE), but 200 MHz LVDS or 100M Ethernet (with external PHY) should work fine. Or you could get the Spartan 7 version (I also have one of these on order and can report if it works when it arrives).

Spartan 6 is plenty new for me ;). Whatsmore, Spartan 7 is only available in BGA packages and this is a bit of a show stopper for many projects. I'll look at those boards in detail, thanks.
