Dave Jones:
I understand your unhappiness with the TV.  Electronics is still a science.  It does not always works.  You might as well replace it with a low end LG, Samsung, or a middle price Sony.  Masking out the dead pixel columns like you did is brilliant.  I have a low end, cheap LG.  I cannot afford a Sony.

If you like Back to the Future so much, then, why did not you buy an used De Lorean Motor car, DMC from California or Texas?  Most used De Loreans are in California and Texas, U.S.A.  Houston, Texas still has a De Lorean store for parts.

I never noticed this before and i've seen back to the future 3 many many times.

Warning, after watching this clip you won't be able to go back to not noticing it.

heh I've been showed this video recently - shortly after we went for night marathon of Back to the Future on Jan 5th - that was a great thing to be able to watch the trilogy in movie theater despite it's from 1985/89/90 :) 26/22/21 years later it still kicks ;)

I only seen blog #52 now. Towards the end of 2009 my panasonic died in the same way. It was a 42" viera pv/px60 which looks to be the same as yours. At the time it was almost three years old with only a one year warranty. I was quoted 750 euro in parts alone to fix it (replacement screen too) but i wrote panasonic a letter asking for it to be fixed and in the end it was repaired FOC, which was nice!

Considering it was nearly 2 years out of warranty it must have been a common fault

Funnily enough in the weeks while it was away i bought a 46" samsung LED but that needed a new screen within 3 months!
