Hi,

May be something like this:

This is the garage where HP started.

Empty for 4 years? Hmm... what are the squatting laws like in Oz?

Well, for about 3 years they had a handful of Oz staffers still using it whilst still trying to rent it.
Sad for a building designed for 300+
No one wants that big of a building in Belrose.

Yep, lousy for transport as many have found out. The occasional bus and that's about it.
And unless the Guvmint was planning on building apartments in Garrigal NP, the population density there is very low (which is the attraction of the area).

Better off leasing it out as upmarket stables, as there are loads of wealthy horse owners in that area! :)
Was it really supposed to do that?

Still trying to figure out who in fact is the real person or company to have leased the building? (Yes someone has lased it according to Shore Commercial Property)

Using Google street view to look down the road where that Altium place is located, everything seems to be for sale or for lease. Must be a real black spot.

Strange? as that would be more like a mysql or are you hosting with a terrible host like hostgator?

It's a dynamic allocation problem with the ether. Happens on days like this one.
Make sure to have a war room.
Just to be able to say: "Gentlemen, you cant fight here. This is the war room."
And have a room for the Microchip-Atmel integration team.

We still don’t know if given the opportunity whether Dave would actually occupy the site based on the travel distance and perhaps other unknown factors, anyway one of my few luxuries in life nowadays is the forum and also a number of Youtube sites so today I took out a lottery ticket in case they decide to sell, not sure if four million will cover it but it should go close, so people just for luck cross your wires and hope for the best.

Yes Altium are furious. So furious that they have shelved/cancelled plans to give all EEVblog moderators, free for life (£5,000), Altium PCB licences. I guess know one is affected by that ?

Err, whats your problem ? I don't quite see why your launching a personal attack on me. Or is that strange humor ? never said i wanted a copy, just that I asked how much. Most people won't get the refference you know.

It was an April 1st JOKE!

But I agree, others may NOT get the reference. So I have removed the post, as a precaution.

I don't buy tickets in anything under $10M now.

Modern means of communications, such as emails and forums, make lots of opportunity for misunderstandings to arise.

Also I tend to get the impression, that what we find funny/humorous in the UK, is somewhat different to the humor in the USA, and some other countries.

IT'S A COUP! Unbelievable.

Dave, sublet it to the Australian electronics R & D industry. It could become a EE technology park. Electronics only. No software only businesses, just electronics and firmware development companies. Get funded by the government too, as part of the so-called push to reinvigorate the electronics industry in Australia.

I would be tempted to move down to Sydney from up here in Melbourne to run my electronics business there.

Dave, you won't lose. (Except you might have a lot of lawn mowing to do!).

Hang on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's April fool's day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

And that is how HP will end up. They lost the plot ever since Carly Fiorina took over.

Congratulations with your new building Dave! I hope you manage to grow out of it real quick!

IMHO one floor should become a model railroad!

With all the unused space, you could build a monstrously HUGE fish tank!
When you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective.

Dave could rent out space to electronic firms with the condition that Dave is allowed to make YT videos of their work.  It would be a tremendous win win for everyone.

Add also that all building dumpsters traffic has to pass through his inspection.

Hi Dave, Once you move in to the new Lab, We need to see a tear down of this

Dave would need to add a health hazard alert in large bold letters at the beginning of that tear down video: "Warning! Might contain Ghostbusters 2016 material."

LAN parties?

EDIT: But the old fashioned way with 10BASE2, T-pieces and terminators -- Spend the first 3 hours diagnosing connection issues until you get the shits and just solder the 50 ohm resistor directly onto the two end NICs.
