Flat panel Monitor repair

I am working for someone that refurbs arcade machines, and he was asking me about doing flat panel monitor repair as he has a lot of them, question is what would be the most common issues besides bulging caps, and issues with the backlight, they are all pretty much computer monitors, using vga for a signal. what tools would I need to do basic repairs, besides a multimeter and a esr meter.

Kinda what I was thinking, am I correct in thinking most of the issues will be bad caps due to failed power supplies.

Yes, most commonproblems with lcd monitors is
A. Back light gone end of life
B. Caps gone bad

Other issues
Dry joint on controller chip
Controller chip died.
