Hi all
So trying to setup a small home lab, since Dave inspired me. So surfing abit online turned up a tek 2225 at a desent price. Unfurtunatly it didnt come with any probes
So first newbie question; what probes do I need? I found a set of the probes the would have came with scope, but they aren't exactly cheap, so can I just get a set of 100 Mhz off ebay or is that bad idea?
So as Dave allways say's, don't turn it on, take it apart
but the only revealed alot of dust, but not the good kind that you can get rid of with compressed air. Apparently it has been sitting om a smokefilled room and now all the dust is sticking to every thing.
What is the best way to clean the interior? Iso alcohol and q-tips or is the another way? What is the best alcohol to use? Iso or denatured?
Last question ( atleast in this post ) the channel 1 volts/div switch is really hard to turn and it isn't clicking into position as easily as channel 2, the problem seems to be linked. I'm hoping that the switch just needs a good cleaning. Would Kontakt chemie no. 61 do the job or would it be better to get a pure contact cleaner without any corrosion protection?
