Problem with LCD controller board
« on: November 02, 2020, 01:22:06 pm »
Hi everyone,

I want to use the screen of an old laptop as an external monitor.
So I followed a tuto and I bought a LCD controller board on ebay (eDP HDMI LCD Controller Board for LTN156HL01 LTN156HL06 1920x1080 LCD Screen).

My problem is that it doesn't work: when I plug in the adapter, the controller's LED turns red, and when I plug in the HDMI wire connecting my computer to the controller, the controller's LED turns green.
However, the external screen (that I connected to the controller) doesn't turn on.

I am not sure if I did something wrong (for instance, while plugin the controller's wire to the screen) or if it is because the adapter is not powerful enough: I'm using a 12V 3A adapter and it is written on the controller's page on ebay that the controller requires an adapter with 12V and "more than 3A", I'm not sure if "more than 3A" means 4A and more or 3A and more.

I am sorry if it sounds confuse, I'm a total newbie in electronic stuff.

Here's two pictures of the controller not plugged and the controller plugged.

I would appreciate a lot any piece of advice.

Thanks by advance !
