Heyall, I managed to obtain a Nippon Primex NP-F413FA (yuck) branded thermal printer, from an old Sega Console. Figured out where the power goes, and got it to print it's self test. Said test reads:
LTP2000 Series interface
PT222P01 Ver 1.04
Mechanism LTP2442
Apparently it can do both Parallel and various flavours of Serial connections. Despite being older than me, if the DIP's are configured for denser text, it prints with a rather nice quality.
I tried contacing the manufacturer, to see if they'd support a hobbyist with the documentation and pinout of the data connection. They simply replied this:
We checked for our printer NP-F413FA which is OEM product for our customer.
Therefore, we assume not to send our specification document.
The printer's data connection is a Molex(?) that looks like seen in the following Dropbox. It also has a label, which is also in the dropbox. I for one fail to guess, what could be going on here. Is there anyone on this forum who might have some ideas?
