Reasonably priced FPGA dev board that has RF i/o?
« on: April 27, 2019, 11:30:32 pm »
Does there exist a reasonably priced FPGA dev board with RF i/o other than the Altera/Intel Max 10 development kit? I already have one of those....it has 3 on board SMAs comprising 2 analog inputs and 1 DAC output. All of the RF FPGA dev kits I've found from the usual suspects cost a great deal more than I want to pay as a hobbyist.

Analog Devices Pluto has a ZINQ with additional components for RF input and output. Priced around $150

Ettus Research USRP B200 / B210 should be a good candidate too. Although the FPGA is kind of old (Spartan 6), and the cost is on the high side. AD936X Frontend

Limemicro LimeSDR [Mini] should fit your requirement too. It has Altera FPGA and Limemicro LMS7002M RF Frontend.

Both systems published enough documents so you can use them as FPGA + RF Frontend Dev Board easily.
