RapidSilicon - what happened to "open-source" FPGAs ?
« on: September 27, 2024, 02:42:28 pm »
I remember eagerly following RapidSilicon and their vision of open-sourcing the FPGA fabric.
They were busy talking about their open solutions and their first physical child Gemini devices that were to serve both as useful tools for mere mortals as well as the tech demonstrators.
AND then ... nothing.

But RapidSilicon is still there. Still talking about Gemini, but materials feel a bit stale.
Does anyone here have experience with those and development tools ?
What do they use - Yosys or something else now and how well does it work ?
