Thanks , ive listened to two of Dr Engelhardts vids on Qspice, and read quite a bit.
But when he simmed a SMPS, he seemed to have written the model for it himself in C?
Either that, or he had built up the controller model himself from circuit units?......he didnt just download a "UCC38C43" model and start running it....which is what would be really great.
Even better if you could download say, a LT1248 and start simming that......because PFCs take ages to simulate , so if Qspice is quicker then it would be great for PFC sims.......
LLC controllers too....say i want to put a LLC controller into Qspice.....i dont think an LLC controller model exists on the web, so its no can do.....so in most projects, you just wouldnt bother, as you can do a restricted LLC sim in LTspice ,and thats enough...and most projects just dont have time for an engineer to go round and do loads of researchy stuff aswell.
Obviously, Dr Engelhardt wrote LTspice too.....but with LTspice , if i want to do a quick basic check on a flyback converter, i can just shovel a LT1243 into a LTspice sim, and within minutes , its job done......i couldnt yet see how such ease of use could be gotten from Qspice?
