LTspice wont allow editing spice directive
« on: November 03, 2023, 07:14:14 am »
Hi,
Anyone know the fix for this?...i saw it from others after googling it..

Often, when i want to change a spice directive, it wont let me....i have to convert it to a text statement, change it, then convert  it back to a spice directive....thats a "fix" but takes time.

Not sure what exactly your issue is.
A Spice directive is nothing else than a text statement. What are you after?

I routinely add Spice directives in LTSpice schematics, for instance to add coupling coefficients between coils, or define initial conditions.
Just go to Edit/Spice directive, or just type 'S', the dialog pops up, enter the directive, place it on the schematic, done.

To edit one already placed on schematic, just right-click on it and the dialog pops-up with the directive you can edit.
Is there anything more to it?

I can't tell why it wouldn't. Been using LTSPice 17.x on Windows and now on Linux, updated to even the latest version, and it appears to just work.
Are you using a recent version of LTSpice? Which OS?
Note that, while I haven't run into this issue at all, LTSpice does have a number of UI bugs (most of them are in the Waveform viewer IME), so I wouldn't be surprised if it had this one on particular configurations.

I had the same bug.  It actually magically went away recently.   No idea.
