I thought the title was referring to LEDs.

Technically, you can light up a solar panel, it's just really weak.

Excellent, I could use this technology to power my home.

There is just the small problem of finding a suitable area for the panels. An installation covering a small country like Liechtenstein should be large enough to supply the power needs for my house and even leave a bit over for my neighbour's house.
