This JCG King-Kong router's magic smoke is already let out
« on: March 21, 2018, 10:12:40 am »
For some odd reason, the marketing geniuses (or the genius designer Lyle Yang) decided to render a picture with a smoking router...
Also the router name is King-Kong, so maybe it's a smoking monkey?

Seems like typical marketing wank.   They wanted it to look cool and futuristic.  Perhaps they wanted to create the perception that it is smoking fast.  Regardless, when most people see the series of pictures they just get the idea of a high end router.  When an electronics person sees the picture they think :-BROKE

If it's running that "smoking hot", they'd better re-visit the heat sink and thermal design. It's obviously pretty crappy.
