Hi EEVBlog gurus,
I have a board that has large devices with many VCC and GND pins. I connected all these pins to appropriate VCC and GND in schematic and verified as much in the schematic by hovering the mouse over their nets and watching VCC and GND light up everywhere. nice.
In PCB I defined VCC and GND copper pours and connected them to the VCC and GND nets, however, when I run the autorouter, no matter what I do, these pins on the devices still show as air wires, why? It looks like they are connected to the appropriate planes but I cannot get the airwires to not show. What is the program trying to tell me? What have I failed to do? I've been looking and looking but I cannot find an answer to this
I tried unrouting one of the samples in the DipTrace distribution and running the autorouter on that and it also leaves the VCC and GND showing as air wires. I'm really trying not to rant here
(this could be my own stupidity and unfamiliarity) but if this is feature it is a very annoying
one because showing air wires for nets that are actually connected doesn't make sense and could result in missing real unaddressed air wires because of the extra clutter.
I do see the pins of these devices connected in the connectivity checker. Verification->"Check Net Connectivity". Also the PCB and the Schematic compare without errors.
Please, what am I not doing or missing? Is there an option to turn this off if it is a feature?
This is the latest 3.3.0.1. Earlier versions did the same thing. I still have them installed.
Thanks,
Vince
