Wittig Oszifox back from the dead
« on: May 16, 2014, 05:02:06 am »
Just learned about this recently and don't recall seeing it mentioned here.  The Kickstarter failed, but many people here are aware of Wittig and their old probe oscilloscope.  Maybe you'll find it interesting:

The "company" website for this is at:

(corrected link now, thanks!)

I remember that the first time around.  It wasn't very good.

That was 20 odd years ago.  I'm not sure I could remember the exact reasons when I tried it, but i didn't buy one (I also had a Scopemeter, Tek465 and PM3394 Combiscope so used to decent displays).

Ah, sorry, I got a bit confused. I thought you meant the one we can see in KS was not very good, but you meant the first one. Duh :)

I remember that, and the price, and the screen devoid of any info except a squiggly line. Fancied one the play with but couldn't justify the cost.

I wonder what makes them think they can sell more on their own if the KS didn't go ??

KS , in my opinion, is a good indicator of success outside in the free / open market.

Failed KS = no money, no units.

Sell by website = some money, some units

I think the maths has it :)

I think engineers fall in-love an idea, and tend to pursue it to the bitter end.  I don't remember seeing the KS for the reborn Oszifox.

If this class of instrument was really in-demand then the big manufacturers would be in on it.
