The "Joey" 7-segment LED display board for Raspberry Pi

"Feel free to promote your crowd funded project here..."

Ok, if you insist!  ;)

I launched the "Joey" - a little numeric display, which hangs off the side of a Raspberry Pi, nearly a month ago on Kickstarter: http://kck.st/1OudIq2

And I'm happy to say that it's been funded!  But there's still nearly two days to go, so if you have a Raspberry Pi, you still have a chance to grab one!

Why a 7-segment LED display, when OLEDs and LCDs are so much more "now"?
As I wrote in the Raspberry Pi forum:

The Joey is designed to be genuinely useful while not getting in the way. But sitting off to the side, you can still see the display, even if you have a HAT or other expansion board mounted on your Pi. And because it connects through I2C, and doesn't use any other GPIO pins, it's likely to work alongside any of your other add-ons. See the Kickstarter video to see what I mean...
And besides, LED displays have a nice friendly glow!

It's handy for finding your Pi's IP address if you take it to a meeting, or displaying a reading such as temperature, or even the time of day. And yes, we provide the software for all of those, along with a Python library that even allows you to display words on the Joey (admittedly, "M" and "W" are pretty dodgy on a 7-segment display...
