My quote was from "Moby Dick" - it's the famous last words of Captain Ahab as he is pulled to his death while in the final struggle with the whale, Moby Dick. Moby Dick, in a greater sense, is the story of a man who suffered an incident with an adversary that he lets so consume him that his whole life becomes a never ending quest for revenge. Captain Ahab is so consumed with hatred and a desire for revenge that he betrays his religion, his crew and even his own best interests to get his revenge. He ends up paying the ultimate price, and while he felt his cause was just, it turned out that Ahab was himself the tyrant, just as much as the one he waged his war against.
I thought the analogy was poignant - but I doubt you will agree. In this case, you have become that which you claim to hate the most. Sad, and easily fixable, but likely never to happen.
